Meet the Artist

Hello!

I am Vivan Pham, the modern calligrapher and floral designer behind By Vivan based in Northern California, more specifically the Bay Area. My home based studio is located in Milpitas!

My calligraphy journey started in 2018 when I discovered the meditative aspects of hand lettering. The simplicity of drawing thin and thick lines has sparked so much joy in my life. Since then, I have made it a mission to share my passion for this beautiful art medium with the world through my curated calligraphy kits for beginners and various lettering and watercolor workshops within my community. I have taught corporate team bonding workshops at Swirl Works, classes at Atherton Arts Foundation, and private workshops.

Throughout the years, I sensed that the table of place cards, envelopes, and signages just felt incomplete without the presence of beautiful, organic blooms. I believed that florals add a nice finishing touch to complement the calligraphy work. Since 2023, I have immersed myself in the world of floral design, and now offer bouquets, arrangements, and florals for events.

Besides flowering, the DIY-er in myself loves to create handmade and personalized items. I absolutely enjoy exploring many styles of art from papercraft to watercolor, the opportunities for exploration are endless.
