Meet the Artist

Hello!

I am Vivan Pham, the modern calligrapher behind By Vivan which is based in Northern California, more specifically the Bay Area. My calligraphy journey started in 2018 when I discovered the meditative aspects of hand lettering. The simplicity of drawing thin and thick lines has sparked so much joy in my life. Since then, I have made it a mission to share my passion for this beautiful art medium with the world through my curated calligraphy kits for beginners and various lettering and watercolor workshops within my community.

Besides teaching, the DIY-er in myself loves to create handmade, and especially personalized items. I absolutely enjoy exploring many styles of art from papercraft to watercolor, the opportunities for exploration are endless.
